We believe that the best way to discover and experience an area is on foot. Our walking trip is on a self-guided basis. We are providing you with the main ingredients but you are walking independently.

You are guided by our Route notes, maps and way marks which provide comprehensive route directions as well as local detail and highlights. This gives you the freedom to walk at your own pace. You can choose the day you wish to start and we book your accommodation, subject to availability. (Day 2, the first day after arriving in Somerset West, must however not be on a Saturday, Sunday or local public holiday)
You will spend every evening in the highest available standard of hotel or guest house along the route. We arrange for your luggage to be moved from hotel to hotel.

The Cape Winelands region is regarded as one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa - while the area between Somerset West and Stellenbosch is seen as the jewel in the crown. Our Cape Winelands Walk offers an opportunity to experience the splendour of distinctive and spectacular countryside first-hand, and in depth - covering a distance of some 100kms over six days.(The shorter version of the trip (The “Weekender” option),  is 45 km over 3 days).  You will walk along private and secure footpaths that find their way through some of South Africa’s most esteemed wine estates - through a spectacularly varied countryside that will reveal breathtaking scenery and a rich array of flora and fauna. You will also experience the atmosphere of history in South Africa’s second oldest town, Stellenbosch.

We have taken great care in researching the itinerary and facilities to offer a varied and interesting holiday plan. Your adventurous spirit will be challenged while you are discovering the beauty of the Cape Winelands and after every day’s walk you can enjoy distinctive Cape hospitality.
